The house I’m staying at has three clocks that chime at every hour. Every night I wake up hearing DONG DONG DONG 12 times… then the next clock goes off… and the next. The first is a grandfather clock on the wall near where I sleep (or stay awake hearing the clocks go off!). The second is a very elaborate grandfather clock that is much taller than me. It has gold details and somewhat inspired this pencil drawing. The third is a cockoo clock that plays a different song each hour after chiming. Anyways, I seem of procrastinate and this drawing is a reminder to stop wasting time! Then again… I just spent a few hours drawing swirls when I could be doing homework……

I love this post (and the drawing too!). i stayed a week at house with two of those clocks and sleeping was just a challenge to say the least. So i feel your pain.
And the drawing is wonderful. It’s fun, and yet it scares me at the same time. Wonderful! 🙂

Sorry about the clocks! Can you turn them off? The 2nd time i stayed at the house with the two clocks, the guy turned off the chimes, but I still could not sleep hearing that tick tock, tick tock, constantly. It nearly drove me mad. 🙂
Thanks, if you’d like to purchase the original I could put it up on my Etsy. I found out part of the problem was there is a smaller clock in my room that was also ticking! I moved it far away so I can’t hear it anymore.

Haha that’s definitely not true. I sleep deeper, but I have every bit as much trouble getting to sleep.
